Weekly Notices

This is where you can keep up to date with groups, events and service times across the Benefice. Services times are as regular as possible but can be subject to change so it’s worth checking in to see what’s on and when. Notices for extra services around Christmas and Easter may also be posted here.

If you are unsure about whether something is on or not then contact one of the team or the contact given in the notice.

The Third Sunday of Epiphany

  • Welcome: We welcome Canon Philip Need,Diocesan Director of Ordinands (DDO), as our celebrant and preacher at the 9.15am and 10.45am services. Fr Philip is responsible for the selection of all clergy for training, and is responsible for Rev Wendy and Fr John and the journey they are on.
  • Thank You: Thank youto everyone for your prayers, cards, gifts and messages following my operation. All went well and I am making a slow but sure recovery with Jean’s care. Peter Craggs.
  • Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 18th– 25thJanuary: We pray for Corringham Baptist Church, Corringham Evangelical Church and the Thurrock Christian Fellowship. We also pray for our Friends at St Margaret’s Stanford le Hope and our friends at Bulphan, Orsett and Horndon.
  • Electoral Roll: Preparation of a new church electoral roll is due to take place this year. This means that the names of everyone currently on our electoral roll will be removed and you will need to re-apply if you wish to be included on the new electoral roll. If you have not been on the electoral roll before, but would like to be on this new roll please speak to Barrie at Corringham or Elaine at Fobbing for an application form or more information.
  • Corringham Donation Envelopes:Elizabeth Copping has the 2019 freewill donation envelopes. Elizabeth will attend services at St John’s and St Mary’s so please collect your envelopes from her.
  • Sponsored Diet:Victoria has now completed her sponsored diet in aid of the Roof Appeal. Could everybody who sponsored her please let her have your sponsor money. Thank you.
  • Choir Practice:Tuesday 22ndJanuary 7.30pm at St John’s.
  • Saturday 2ndFebruary is a Busy Day:

Call in for Coffeein St John’s at 10am and at the same time aJumble Sale– if you have items please deliver to St John’s by Sunday 27th January.

At the same time, the augmented choir of Fobbing and Corringham will be doing aSponsored Singin St Mary’s for the Roof Appeal, do drop in and show support.
